Oxford Scribes is a calligraphy society, based in Oxford but with an international membership. We hold Saturday workshops, club days and have regular exhibitions.
We publish a newletter three times a year featuring our activities and with articles by respected members of the calligraphy profession.

This is a day for anyone to come and try their hand at calligraphy. There will be Oxford scribes tutors available to help everyone with whatever project they want to work on. Come with a project, an idea or even an alphabet and enjoy the day with us creating beautiful writing.
This year is the 30th anniversary of Oxford scribes. It will include an exhibition at the County Museum in Woodstock in May, and the Cornerstone Gallery at Didcot in June. The centrepiece is a maypole of textural calligraphic ribbons. The exhibitions will include a variety of styles on various surfaces. There will also be time for the public to create their own calligraphies. We are looking forward to as many people as possible celebrating beautiful writing with us throughout the year.
