Oxford Scribes is a calligraphy society, based in Oxford but with an international membership. We hold Saturday workshops, club days and have regular exhibitions.

We publish a newletter three times a year featuring our activities and with articles by respected members of the calligraphy profession.

There will be a presentation on Japanese Shodo calligraphy by Naoko Hosakawa followed by a demonstration and workshop.

Vivien Lunnis On ‘Calligraphy for Christmas’ – 9TH Nov.

A calligraphic card making fest using a variety of scrips and techniques.

Penny Price on Cnut Hand ‘The Great Charter Hand For Today’ – 12TH Oct.

Cnut hand is a compressed roundhand with a bit of pen manipulation.

UK Fine Press Book Fair, Oxford Brookes University, Gypsy Lane, Oxford

Oxford Scribes is hoping to have a small stand as usual at this prestigious event over the weekend 2-3 November 2013.

Start thinking about producing cards, bookmarks,small books containing your calligraphy, or other calligraphic items suitable for selling on a very small table.
